Fireworks light up the sky above Niagara Falls

Canada’s longest running fireworks series continues this summer! The spectacular multi-colour display lights up the sky high above the Falls starting at 10:00pm each Friday, Sunday, and Holiday from May 17-September 1, 2013 at 10:00pm.
Make the experience even more special by seeing the display from a Fallsview Room at Sheraton on the Falls or Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls-Fallsview or while enjoying dinner at one of our three Fallsview Restaurants.

Falls Avenue Resort To Participate in Earth Hour 2013

Falls Avenue Resort will dim or turn off non-essential lighting to mark Earth Hour 2013. The 20 acre Resort will be joining the international community who will be participating from 8:30pm-9:30pm on Saturday March 23. The hotels, restaurants and attractions on the Resort have pledged to dim or turn off non-safety related lighting and equipment including the iconic signage that lines Falls Avenue. Guests will also be encouraged to participate by turning lights off in their rooms and by making environmentally conscious decisions during their stay.

As many of the hotels and attractions in Niagara Falls are expected to participate, one of the best views of the freshly dimmed city will be from one of the Resort’s spectacular fallsview restaurants (Windows by Jamie Kennedy or the Rainbow Room by Massimo Capra) where guests will dine by candle light.

Breakfast Television Live Eye From Fallsview Indoor Waterpark

We got the day off to an early start welcoming Frank Ferragine and the BT Live Eve Crew to the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark. We also enjoyed the company of a record crowd of more than 650 guests who received free entry to the waterpark starting at 6:30am. Live Eye from the waterpark is an annual pre March Break tradition that showcases not only the 3 acre Niagara Falls waterpark, but popular Falls Avenue Resort attractions and restaurants as well. This morning’s segments featured cookie decorating at Hershey Store Niagara Falls, a Guitar Hero Challenge at Adventure City and construction of the built-to-share Volcano Sundae from Rainforest Cafe.

Niagara Falls plays a part in Presidential Inauguration

A very familiar view was recognized today as part of the Presidential Inauguration festivities in Washington, DC. A framed painting of Niagara Falls dating back to 1865 was selected as the “official painting” and placed in the rotunda of Capitol Hill for today’s inauguration luncheon. The painting was placed behind the head table where President Obama and the First Lady were seated and depicts the Falls from same vantage point as the Sheraton on the Falls and Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls – Fallsview now share. The painting by artist Ferdinand Richardt was selected for the occasion because it is “inspiring” – we’d have to agree!

Massimo Capra to Host Next Culinary Series Event

The Falls Avenue Resort is excited to welcome Celebrity Chef, TV Host and Author Massimo Capra back to Niagara Falls for a special Winter Harvest Dinner. “A Night with Massimo Capra and Friends” is the third in a new culinary series at the Resort which features intimate dinners and meet & greets with the celebrity Chefs that call Falls Avenue home.
