FARblog5What exactly is it that people are looking for in a vacation destination? World-class accommodations? One-of-a-kind attractions? Unforgettable Restaurants? Sights? Sounds? Stress-relief? Savings? For most would-be vacationers, it’s probably a combination of that list and a whole lot more, and here in Niagara Falls, we pride ourselves on the wealth of reasons people routinely give for choosing this place as the spot where they want to spend their vacation.

One of the most regularly cited reasons is the wide variety of entertainment offered throughout the busy summer season like the Music Under the Stars concert series. Here is a look at just some of what you can look forward to at this year’s series should you be on your way to Niagara anytime between June and September.

The Scene

Hosted by Jackson-Triggs Winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake and located at their amphitheatre, this summer music series takes place in one of the most beautiful outdoor settings in Niagara. Settle down with your loved ones while nestled amongst luscious vineyards and farmland.

The show goes on rain or shine, but if you pack enough umbrellas on a rainy night, the weather can just add to the memory-making fun. The sound is superb and the stage is expertly lighted. For a summertime music experience, it hits all the right notes.

FARblog6The Acts

Of course, music is the most important part of any concert series, and Music Under the Stars gets in a wide variety of regional, national, and international acts. Juno and Grammy Award winners routinely grace the stage, and depending on what you listen to, you might just get a chance to see one of your favorites in an intimate setting. Here are some of the acts slated to perform at the 2016 music series:

  • Sam Roberts Band. For three performances in a row, Sam Roberts and his band will delight attendees of the series. Known for their electric live performances, the band has also enjoyed a string of hits off their albums, “The Inhuman Condition” and “Lo-Fantasy.” They’re slated to play June 9th, 10th, and 11th.
  • Colin James. A Canadian legend, Colin James’ debut album in 1988 was the fastest-selling record in Canada’s history, and since then, his records have gone platinum over and over again. Having just released his 17th album, his place among great Canadian artists is assured. He takes the stage at the Jackson-Triggs Amphitheatre on July 8th.
  • Bruce Cockburn. 12-time Juno award-winner, Bruce Cockburn, is one of North America’s most-celebrated guitarists, songwriters, and singers. Political and poetic, Cockburn is also a great storyteller, leaving audiences inspired, enlightened, and entertained. He is set to play the series on August 19th.
  • And many, many more!

All the shows start at 8 p.m., with “doors” opening at 7 p.m. Ticket prices vary according to the event, but one thing is certain: 2016’s Music Under the Stars is one of the finest concert series in all of Canada. Whether you love rock and roll or singer-songwriters, schedule your vacation to coincide with a concert. You won’t soon forget the place, the feeling, or the performance.
