Fort George was the headquarters for the Centre Division of the British Army during the War of 1812. Home to British regulars, local militia, aboriginal warriors and freed slaves, these historical monuments are still preserved to this day.

The Proper Awesome Fort George Xplorer Program lets visitors explore Fort George on this fun filled experience filled with dress up, games, toys, puzzles and much more. With a chance to receive the Xplorer Certificate, you can become a certified Xplorer by completing the various activities located throughout the Fort.

The largest event that takes place at Fort George is the Canada Day celebration that includes activities throughout the day, music, food, fireworks and of course musket and cannon firings. This free event means you won’t have to break the bank to have a great Canada Day with the family!
