Niagara Area Santa Claus Parades

Nothing gets you into the holiday spirit quite like a Santa Claus parade, and this year there are five great parades happening throughout the region that offer the perfect weekend activity for you and your family.

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls will be hosting the city’s annual Santa Claus Parade on Saturday November 18th at 11am on Queen Street in downtown Niagara Falls. The event will feature twelve amazing marching bands, stilt walkers, inflatable gingerbread men and snowmen, wonderful floats, a giant inflatable Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, and of course, Santa Claus. During the parade the Salvation Army will be giving out free hot chocolate at Rosberg Family Park, there will be free face painting, balloons, and caricatures near City Hall, Canada Post will be collecting letters to Santa along the parade route, and Tim Hortons will be giving away free coffee, hot chocolate, and lattes at the corner of Valley Way and Queen Street. This year’s Niagara Falls Santa Claus Parade will be bigger and better than ever, so make sure to check it out.

Welland

Welland will also be hosting a Santa Claus parade on Saturday November 18th, beginning at 4pm at Canadian Tire Financial Services and travelling west towards Civic Square. The parade will be followed by the lighting of Welland’s Christmas tree, visits with Santa, and free hot chocolate and treats.

St. Catharines

On Sunday November 19th, you can attend the St. Catharines Santa Claus Parade at 1pm, beginning on McGuire Street behind the Meridian Centre. The parade ends at Queen Street where there will be a party and free skate at the Meridian Centre. But you don’t have to skate to enjoy the festivities because from 2-4pm there will also be photos with Santa, kids crafts, face painting, and outdoor pony rides. And to embrace the spirit of giving this holiday season, it’s asked that guests bring a nonperishable food item, hats, or mittens for Community Care St. Catharines & Thorold.

Niagara-on-the-Lake

This Saturday November 9th, Niagara-on-the-Lake will be hosting a Christmas parade at 11am. The parade will feature a number of amazing floats travelling through historic and charming downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake and is a great spot to spend time with family and friends of all ages.

Fort Erie

This year’s Fort Erie Santa Claus Parade is happening on November 18th at 4pm. The parade route begins on Jarvis Street and Niagara Boulevard and will continue to Central Avenue and Catherine Street. And don’t miss out on the pre-parade entertainment happening on Jarvis Street from 2-4pm.

Route begins at Jarvis Street & Niagara Boulevard, proceeds to Central Avenue, and South to Catherine Street. Pre-parade entertainment from 2pm-4pm on Jarvis Street.
