October 6, 2022 2:01 pm

It is the season of pumpkin spice, cozy sweaters, and vibrant colours that dot the landscape – it’s also one of the most picturesque times of year to visit Falls Avenue Resort and Niagara Falls.  Here are our favourite ways to mark the season.

Fall Accommodations

After the rush of Summer activities and events, an early Fall getaway is just the key to relaxation, and is a refreshing change of pace. Unwind in the comfort of a Fallsview Guestroom or suite at one of our Niagara Falls Hotels that overlook the Falls;  Sheraton Fallsview or Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls-Fallsview. Each Hotel is located across from the Falls, steps from top attractions and offer direct indoor walkway to Casino Niagara. Exceptional views of the Falls combine with Fall colours on the surrounding trees for awe-inspiring views.  The Sheraton offers balconies in their rooms so you can enjoy the beauty of Fall from the comfort of your room.  If your stay is over Thanksgiving weekend you will also get to see the final fireworks displays of the season from your room!

Thanksgiving Brunch

Indulge in all of the flavours of Thanksgiving, and leave the clean-up to the Fallsview Restaurant. The Chef and his team are preparing a special Thanksgiving Weekend Buffet for dinner and Brunch.  The Dinner Buffet is available from 5:00pm-9:00pm on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday and will feature Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, butternut squash, cranberry sauce, apple and pumpkin pie, and pumpkin cake.  Many dishes that the Fallsview Restaurant is recognized for including the decadent dessert station featuring a chocolate fountain will also be available. Continuing the Thanksgiving feast is the Fallsview Restaurant’s Brunch on Sunday and Monday from 8:00am-2:00pm. Traditional Thanksgiving items make up the buffet,  plus brunch favourites like waffles, pancakes, French toast, eggs, roasted potatoes, omelets, rice, pasta and many pastries and sweets.

The Restaurant is a beautiful option to gather with friends and family to celebrate Thanksgiving while enjoying the breathtaking view of Niagara Falls that is like nowhere else.

Pumpkin Spice AleNiagara Brewing Company Pumpkin Spice Ale

One of Niagara Brewing Company’s most anticipated flavours is back on tap – Pumpkin Spice Ale  Modeled after a secret family pumpkin pie recipe passed through the generations, this Pumpkin Spice Ale is pie in a glass.  Aromas of the classic holiday spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice) give way to a flavor that bursts with freshly roasted pumpkin, pie crust, spices, and a long finish that gives way to a hint of whipped cream at the end.  Its copper-orange colour and a rich, off-white head, even evoke a piece of pumpkin pie.  Pumpkin Spice Ale is the latest flavour to join the rotating taps at our Niagara Falls craft brewery, where every visit is a new experience. The rotators star alongside signature award-winning craft beers, and a kitchen menu of snacks and bites.  Stop in at the brewery at the corner of Clifton Hill & Falls Avenue for daily “hoppy hour” specials, and live music.  If can’t make it to Falls Avenue, stop by the new Taproom located at Fallsview Casino.

Last Weekend Of Fireworks

All good things must come to an end. The dazzling fireworks displays above the American and Canadian Horseshoe Falls which have enthralled guests for 144 consecutive nights, and will wrap up this weekend.  Nightly displays light the sky at 10pm with the last show on Monday October 10th, so there is still time to experience the iconic attraction for one last weekend. Don’t miss out on seeing the brilliant bursts of colour.
